Piath Mathiang (P-UniQue)
Not a stranger to self-reflection, P-UniQue raps with a rare honesty and insightfulness that flows over powerfully dark bass heavy beats with a relentless precision that will make your jaw drop. Her music is infectious, danceable, and doesn’t lose sight of its underground roots.
Since her debut performance August 2017, P-UniQue has been on the rise. Taking the stage with the likes of, Masta Ace (USA), Billy Davis & The Good Lords, Cool Out Sun (N'fa Jones, Sensible J, Lamine Sonko & Nui Moon) and performing at Strawberry Fields (2018), Leaps and Bound (2018), Changes Summit (2018) and the Australian Open Live Stage (2019). Her debut single Queen With Colour (2018) and follow up track, EFFORT, continue making noise across local and national community radio stations, including Triple J, Unearthed, RRR, PBS, FBi and more. Both singles lifted from her debut EP, Bring Black Back (Dec 2018). P-UniQue’s latest release Change (a collaboration with Melbourne rapper, Krown) continues to deliver. Fusing fresh beats with P-UniQue’s infectious vocals and Krown’s unique tone & delivery. The collaboration marks a dynamic partnership between musicians who have struck a musical balance between honest storytelling, catchy hooks and vibrant production.
