Sasha Leong is an independent multi-disciplinary performing artist and an arts worker based in the West.
As an independent performing artist, Sasha started her career in Malaysia in theatre and commercial dance and was briefly a back-up dancer for R&B songstress, Nadhira. In 2017, she co-choreographed and performed in a contemporary dance piece, Emergence, working alongside musician and sound artist, Tamara Violet Partridge, and visual artist, Alix Whitelaw. The following year, Sasha joined an ensemble of creative artists working across various art forms in a visual and performance art installation, Bukjeh. Her practice stems from the passion and curiosity to explore stories and discover years-long traditions from diverse cultures through movement and music.
Sasha lives and breathes the Arts, juggling her independent practice and projects alongside her role as Dance Development Officer with Ausdance Victoria. She holds strong interest in community engagement and development through the arts and is actively involved within her local community in support and delivery of creative arts projects.
